DCDSB Hours of work during current closure
Good afternoon.
The provincial government announced a provincewide stay at home order that went into effect at 12:01am Thursday April 8th, 2021.
Our custodial and maintenance staff, and other designated staff are still going to the workplace to support staff and students that are still coming in, and to ensure the ongoing safety and security of the facilities.
The hours of work starting next week, and through until further notice will be the following:
- Afternoon custodial staff will be able to work 11am-7:30pm (Monday – Thursday) and 11am-7pm (Friday).
- Day shift staff will continue with their current hours of work. Please note that our childcare partners will continue to operate “emergency” childcare in shared spaces in certain schools until further notice. These sites will have the normal earlier opening to support the childcare.
- Custodial staff will need to work with their principal on the hours they will be working at the start of next week to support technology distribution. This may require at least one custodian to adjust their start time from 11am to support a later than 7:30pm closing time, if the principal determines that this is necessary for their community. Once the technology distribution is complete, all staff can return to the hours identified in the email.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Supervisor.
