Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 218-Office, Clerical, Technical Unit and Durham District School Board, Reach Collective Agreement
The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 218-Office, Clerical, Technical Unit and The Durham District School Board (DDSB), are pleased to announce that they have reached a collective agreement. The agreement pertains to the more than 400 Office, Clerical, Technical members at the DDSB.
CUPE members ratification vote was held on June 27, 2016 and the DDSB ratified the deal at a Special Board Meeting. This new deal will be in effect from September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2017, aligning with provincial settlements at the central bargaining table.
” I am pleased we were able to reach a collective agreement. Through hard work and dedication we were able to overcome difficult issues and look forward to continued positive labour relations and our partnership in Education”. said by CUPE Local 218 President, Rod King.
“On behalf of the Durham District School Board, I want to thank everyone involved in this bargaining process for their hard work and cooperation demonstrated in reaching a collective agreement,” said Chair of the Durham District School Board, Michael Barrett.
