Important update on your CUPE EWBT benefits plan and COVID-19

A Message from the Trustees

As we begin to see the easing of COVID-19-related restrictions, continued financial challenges caused by the pandemic are a reality for many of our members.
Contribution holiday extended

Earlier this year, the Trustees approved a three-month contribution holiday for April, May and June for all plan members with active coverage. While we are seeing improvements in the number of reported new COVID-19-related illnesses, the economic impact continues to be felt by many of our members. With this in mind, the Trustees have decided to extend the contribution holiday for July, August and September.
This extension is possible thanks to the sound financial management and strong governance of the Trust, as the Trustees have been able to build and maintain a reserve of funds to help in difficult and extraordinary circumstances such as these.
We hope that this extension of the contribution holiday provides some financial relief to our members during these uncertain times, as the CUPE EWBT Board of Trustees continue to make the support of our members’ health and wellbeing a priority.
Update your preferred email address

Don’t miss out on the most recent plan communications! Your default email address on file with OTIP is your school board email; however, you can change it to an email of your choice. Are you on leave or secondment, or retiring soon? If you don’t have daily access to your school board email, it’s especially important to change your email address on file.
On the home page of My Benefits (OTIP’s Member Access site), click on Review/Update My Email Information. Choose an email account that you check regularly to ensure you don’t miss any important benefits communications.
Please note, this does not change your email address with Canada Life. To change your email on GroupNet for Plan Members, click on My Claims and follow the instructions.
