As the Prime Minister crosses the country making campaign-style announcements, and the country prepares itself for another Federal Election, we need to remind decision-makers that this pandemic, and its enduring impact on workers, is not yet over. This Labour Day, September 7, 2021, join the Durham Region Labour Council as we recognize the front line workers who have kept our families safe and healthy, and our communities running. While we wish we could be gathering together with workers from across Durham Region, we will be airing our Labour Day event on our Facebook page Durham Region Labour Council Facebook Page at 11 am. The video will be available for viewing at any time. The pandemic has impacted us all differently in our personal and professional lives, and we invite you to help us as we share that impact. Film yourself holding up cards sharing the various roles you have in your lives – grocery store worker, nurse, mother, volunteer, caregiver etc. We will include your video in a montage during our event. Please send your video to durhamlc@durhamlabour.ca by August 27th so that it can be included! Karen David has started us off with a sample video here to give you an idea: Click here for Sample We look forward to compiling your video submissions into our exciting virtual Labour Day event honouring workers so let’s get them in!
