Work refusal at TDSB due to covid

Good afternoon,

As many of you may have seen through social media, CUPE 4400 members alongside their ETFO counterparts at a public school in Scarborough have exercised their rights and have performed a work refusal. The school in question is currently a site with 11 cases (both staff and students), and while sections of the school have been closed, the school in its entirety has not.

A link to one news story is below

It is important that folks remember that this is not job action, this is a work refusal under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Our team here at the OSBCU has offered our support to 4400 and I ask that you and your members join us in solidarity.

Take care,
