Update to Maintenance Operations

Good Morning,

Yesterday, the Government of Ontario declared a second provincial state
of emergency in response to increasing cases of COVID-19.

The province is also issuing a stay-at-home order effective 12:01 a.m.
on Thursday, January 14, 2021. This order requires everyone to stay at
home with exceptions for permitted purposes or activities, such as going
to the grocery store or pharmacy, accessing health care services, for
exercise, or for work where the work cannot be done remotely.

After consulting with the Senior team, the maintenance operation and all
maintenance staff will be working from home, as of end of shift today,
until at least January 22nd.

Depending on further updates, the expected return to school for Durham
Students is January 25th.  As information is updated, I will notify
staff via DDSB email.

House Keeping Items:

·      Office Staff that can work from home, will continue to do so.

·      Please ensure you are available for work for any and all
emergencies during your regular shift. Your supervisor will be in
contact with you, based on the situation.

·      Ensure that you have all your keys, phone and phone charger
home with you during this time.

·      Please continue to monitor your DDSB Email and the DDSB &
CUPE218 websites.

·      Please ensure all vehicles are parked in the back, and that the
east side of the building is clear by the end of today’s shift.

·      There is no access to the shop unless approved by your
supervisor and myself.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact your supervisor and we
will address your concerns/questions to the best of our ability.

I realize that we are all in unprecedented times, so I thank you in
advance for your cooperation.

Stay Safe.

Kindest Regards
