My apologies for only this coming out in English but I wanted to ensure that folks got the info right away. It has appeared that this information was given to the media at the same time.
15 minutes ago I received notification from the Ministry that the Grants for Student Needs (GSNs) will be posted as a paper this morning around 930 am. Our team will review and our plan is that Dan will provide a brief overview in regards to the GSNs and then take a more fulsome review in the coming days.
In the same email we were notified that the Minister will be holding a briefing today at 1230 to discuss school re-opening, a guidance document from the Ministry will follow shortly thereafter.
We have not either document.
It is our understanding that the guidance document for reopening will not be a provincial directive but rather school boards are being asked to develop plans – the government states that federations and unions must e involved in the creation of these plans. These plans must be ready for release by the end of July, again according to the government. The OSBCU is working on several pieces to assist locals with these efforts – these will be available to you shortly.
