Dear Parents and Guardians,
Late this afternoon the government announced that elementary students in Southern Ontario will continue to engage in teacher-led online learning from January 11 to 22, 2021. The new anticipated date for return to in-class learning for both elementary and secondary students is Monday, January 25, 2021. Click here to view the announcement. This decision has been made as a result of a sharp increase in the number of positive Covid-19 cases being confirmed in the province.
Note that Friday, January 15, 2021 is designated as a Professional Activity (PA) Day for elementary school staff, which means there will be no online class instruction scheduled for elementary students on that day. Secondary programming will continue as scheduled.
We recognize the impact this decision may have on families, as well as the broader community and appreciate your ongoing understanding and support as we continue to follow provincial guidelines and protocols for keeping our communities safe. Below you will find a few reminders regarding technology and additional Ministry supports for learning during this extended period of online learning.
Sincerely,
Tracy Barill
Director of Education
