Custodial Operations Update

Hello,

As you are aware, the Province announced that all publicly funded schools will remain closed until May 4, 2020.  It is possible that this closure might be extended.

Throughout the Board, teaching staff are currently setting up to assist students with distance learning.  For this to occur, there is a need for laptops and resources to be retrieved from schools and sent to students.

For 3 days next week, (Monday April 6 to Wednesday April 8) there will be a minimum number of school and board staff accessing the schools to retrieve such resources.

For this to occur, we require all chief custodians to report to work on these three days, 6am to 2:30pm.  We are asking all Chief Custodians to contact their Custodial Supervisor by noon on Saturday April 4 to let them know your availability.  If they do not hear from you by that time, they will be reaching out to you.

You are required to perform touch point disinfecting during these days.  Starting at 9am on each of the three days next week, you will need to be available in the front lobby area of the school, performing touch point disinfecting, with the front doors of the school unlocked so that the required school and board staff can access the building.

Any absences during these three days are to be reported to your Custodial Supervisor.

As we continue through the closure, there may be a need for further access times as well as the need for custodial staff to perform site checks .  We will continue to share information with you as it becomes available.

Attached are the safety protocols to follow during this time.

Thank you for your efforts as we continue to collectively work together to keep each other safe, while continuing learning for our students.

Take care.
