Good afternoon all,

Municipal roads have improved since this morning and clean up work is ongoing supporting safer travel. Based on the current conditions all afternoon staff that can safely travel to work are asked to report to their schools. All afternoon staff are asked to report attendance, shift duration or absence due to safety concerns to your afternoon supervisor via email. Staff not able to attend due to safety concerns will be paid accordingly.

Afternoon staff are asked to prioritize snow removal of all entrances and exits to a minimum width of the doorway and kindergarten pens where possible. Perimeter checks of all sites including portables should be conducted to ensure intake and exhaust venting is clear. Roof inspections from the ground or windows/doorways/hatches are to be visually completed with concerns reported to your supervisor, staff are not to access the roof.

Once you have completed the above noted work you can secure the building and leave the site, you will be paid for the full shift regardless of your departure time. Snow contractors will be working throughout the afternoon and into the evening prioritizing building access by clearing pathways to all entranceways and exits.

Tomorrow, dayshift Leads and Custodians are again asked to again prioritize clearing the snow from all entrances and exits to a minimum width of the doorway. Any concerns with regards to entry or egress must be reported to your supervisors prior to student arrival tomorrow.

As always, thank you very much for all that you do to support or students, staff and the community.

Regards,
