Min of Labour, Trades & Skills Development Consultation on Opioid & Naloxone Response

The MLTSD is seeking information and input from workplace stakeholders on the issue of opioid use in the workplace, including a focus on facilitating access to naloxone in the workplace to reduce the risk of workplace-related deaths caused by opioid overdoses.

Opioid overdoses and deaths have increased significantly in the last decade due to a confluence of many factors, particularly from the rise of synthetic drugs, like fentanyl. The stress and self-isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic have made the opioid epidemic considerably worse.
