DDSB Wants to Hear About Your Experience

Good afternoon,

In an effort to create a safe, healthy, supportive, and productive workplace, we have enlisted the support of Howatt HR to understand the factors that impact your experience in the workplace.

You may remember Howatt HR from our listening tour last year and the sessions that were held with staff across the District. The feedback received highlighted that all of us have a joint responsibility to continue improving our working relationships by encouraging open and authentic communication, building connections and providing respectful and supportive feedback.

Over the span of the next couple of weeks, Howatt HR Consulting will launch an Employee Experience Checkpoint. All employees will have a chance to complete this assessment. The launch date is set to be Tuesday, May 25 and the survey will close on Friday, June 11.

As all of us continue to manage the impact of the pandemic in our day-to-day lives, we understand that it can be a challenge. As a District, we are committed to focusing on how we can support employees now and into the future as we transition out of the pandemic and return to more normalcy. We will continue these efforts with Howatt HR over the next couple of years to help establish improved working relationships.

Howatt HR Consulting will provide you with a link to the survey on Tuesday, May 25. It will only take 15-20 minutes to complete and will contain questions that pertain to your health, productivity and workplace experience. It will provide you the opportunity to anonymously provide feedback to improve your workplace experience. We have consulted with many stakeholder groups including the affinity networks, administrator associations, unions and federations and they are supporting this work. The feedback received will be compiled and key findings and recommendations will be shared with all employees. Employees will also receive an individualized report that they will receive directly based on their responses to the survey.

If you have any questions about the assessment, please contact Heather Mundy, Superintendent of Human Resources.

Participation is 100% voluntary and responses are confidential.
We appreciate your consideration in participating, and for playing an active role in helping to improve the employee experience in our workplace.

Thank you,
Norah Marsh
Director of Education

We are pleased to have enlisted the support of the Howatt HR team to help us understand the factors that influence our mental fitness, as well as to support us in building the skills that would help us thrive in our work environment.
